Stray Voltage Technician

Job Description:

The position of stray voltage technician is a fairly demanding position, requiring a fair aptitude for electronics and map reading skills. This program entails employees testing every utility-owned structure, including but not limited to utility (telephone) poles, support cables, and underground units. The position may require the employee to walk between 1 and 5 miles (approximately) daily. Most importantly, it requires a drive to succeed and the internal push to better oneself.

Some of the basic tasks are outlined below.

• Map reading Skills
• Hand-held electronics and/or computer skills
• Driving skills
• Personal/Communication skills
• Time Management Skills

Construction Technician

Job Description:

The position of Construction technician is a very demanding position requiring a good deal of mechanical aptitude- we have found those that enjoy and excel at auto mechanics do very well at this position. We are looking for a fairly experienced individual that our in-house staff can continue to train and move up to a leadership position.

A good candidate is one that strives for safety and quality in every task, while simultaneously searching to improve efficiency and increase productivity. This candidate has strong mechanical aptitude and some industry experience. They also have some management experience and can communicate well to employees and clients.

Some of the basic tasks are outlined below:

• Mechanical skills:Employee should be familiar with general tools
• Leadership skills:Employee should have some experience in managing other personnel
• Personal/Communication skills
• Industry Experience preferred

From the Albany Area

1. Take the New York State Thruway South to Exit 17, Newburgh
2. Go through the toll booth and follow signs for  Route 300 South / Route 17K
3. Proceed through 5 traffic lights
4. At the 6^th traffic light  (Hess Gas Station and Cosimos Restaurant will be on the corner), make a left onto Old Little Britain Road
5. Stay on Old Little Britain Road for 1 mile  (continue straight when you come to the Stop Sign)
6. When you come to the next Stop Sign, make a right onto Little Britain Road / NY-207
7. Go  1/10  of a mile and make a left into the Quality Carton driveway
8. Follow the driveway to the back and you will come to PPS’s headquarters on the left
9. The main entrance is located on the left side of the building.  Follow the sidewalk to the lobby.

From the New York City area

5. Stay on Old Little Britain Road for 1 mile  (continue straight when you come to the Stop Sign)
6. When you come to the next Stop Sign, make a right onto Little Britain Road / NY-207
